Another note: The Bree's Newborn posing Rack is shaped like a horizontal "L" so I tilted it upwards to make a regular "L" and used it as a backdrop for photos of the parents and baby. It worked great! Just gives me more ideas on utilizing the newborn rack in different ways...
6 week-old Calina with a Bree's Newborn Posing Rack
Ok, this was my second newborn shoot, but the first using a Bree's Newborn Posing Rack that I made myself (got the instructions on Pinterest) and the results were pretty good! Little 6 week-old Calina made it difficult though, as she didn't want to sleep, be on her tummy, or wear cute little hats (except once, for about 5 seconds). You know all of those pictures where the baby is sleeping soundly and posed in cool positions? Yeah, we couldn't do those. We managed to get some great shots anyway and it was definitely a learning experience for me. As I've said before, I can't improve as a photographer unless I accept challenges and learn from them. You can read all the theories on photography out their, but actually doing it is another thing entirely. The best teacher is experience.
